Dyspagia disorder make the sufferer having lack of pharyngeal sensation. Having this disorder doesn’t mean that the sufferer feeling painful swallowing, because it is surely different. Painful swallowing is a disorder called odynophagia.

People are said to have a dysphagia disorder if he or she have symptom like being unable to swallow, drooling, being hoarse, having frequent heartburn, and Coughing or gagging when swallowing. There are many other symptoms that could be the sign of dysphagia.

CAUSES


The disorder of dysphagia is happen because the throat and esophagus are having problem to bring the food down to the stomach. This difficulty happen because the muscles and nerves are not working right. This failness of muscles and nerves is caused by many cause like Had a stroke or a brain or spinal cord injury, Certain problems of our nervous system, An immune system problem, and Scleroderma.

ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENT FOR DYSPHAGIA

Acupuncture treat dysphagia disorder by treating the patient by needling the acupoint around the neck. Because dysphagia is difficulty to swallow. The main acupoint use for treating this disorder is the acupoint GB20. This acupoint is located 1 inch below feng chi. After placing the needle, then the needle being twirled for 200 times per minute. This treatment will last for 2-3 minutes. The stimulation process will be repeated every 10 minutes. After the treatment, the needles will be left or retained at the acupoint for 30-45 minutes.
