The true cause of epilepsy is vary among person. It depend on the age of the person. The cause of epilepsy are genes factors, change of brain structures, being autism, brain infections, head injuries or trauma, strokes, brain tumor, and also Alzheimer’s disease.

The acupuncture treatment method to cure epilepsy would be an auricular acupuncture, because epilepsy is considered to be the disorder that is caused by something wrong inside the patient brain. The auricular acupoints selected are the acupoints of Pizhixia, Nao, and Shenmen. Other acupoints that might be used in this treatment are the acupoints of GV14 and ST36. The treatment of the auricular acupoints will induce vagal tone to suppress epileptic seizures. Auricular acupuncture treatment can be successful because this treatment will bring an anti-inflammation effect.
