Rather than a single disease, Glomerulonephritis actually is a group of disease that damage the part of the kidney that have the function of filtering blood, which is called glomeruli. Other terms that may be used to explain this disease are nephritis or nephrotic syndrome. If glomeruli being damaged, then the kidney can not perform its task effectively. The kidney can not filtering waste and remove extra fluid in the body. If this condition persist, kidney will be stop completely which is resulting in kidney failure.

SYMPTOMS


Although considered as dangerous disease, unfortunately this disease usually doesn’t produce any clear symptom. The symptom will be obvious if the disease is already at worse stage. The most obvious symptom of the Glomerulonephritis is blood in urine. Other symptom that may exist along with the disease would be high blood pressure, fluid build up in legs and lower back, rashes, joint pain, breathing problems, and tiredness.

CAUSES


Glomerulonephritis (GN) can be acute or chronic. The cause of acute GN could be body response to an infection such as strep throat or an abscessed tooth. Other illness that may trigger acute Glomerulonephritis would be Goodpasture’s syndrome, amyloidosis, and polyarteritis nodosa. Chronic GN however usually producing very few symptoms. The cause of chronic GN including immune disease, cancer, and exposure to hydrocarbon solvents.

Acupuncture Treatment For Glomerulonephritis (Nephritis)

Glomerulonephritis (GN) is regarded as kidney disorder. Therefore any acupuncture method to cure the kidney disease may work also. The method used is by stimulating the nerve that controlling the kidney. Acupuncture theory behind this method of treatment is known as “wind-hided renal collaterals”. The treatment for this kidney will last for 8 weeks. After treatment, the test will show the reduction of renal function parameters.
