Joint pain is feeling of discomfort, pain, or inflammation that happen at any part of joint. This part of joint could be the cartilage, bone, ligaments, muscles, or tendons. However, the term joint pain usually refer to the arthritis or arthralgia. Arthritis is the pain or inflammation that come from inside the joint itself. Pain of the joint can be mild or severe, depending on the cause.

The condition that marked as a sign of joint pain are Joint Stiffness, Joint Swelling, and Muscle Cramps. Other symptoms that can be associated with joint pain including joint redness, joint swelling, joint tenderness, joint warmth, limping, locking of the joint, loss of range of motion of the joint, stiffness, and weakness.

CAUSES

 


Joint pain can cause by many conditions such as injury, accident, obesity, smoking habit, lack of calcium, arthritis disease, and cancer.

Acupuncture Treatment For Joint Pain

The treatment of acupuncture for joint pain will be targeting on acupoints of ST34 and SP10. Other acupoints that might be used including LE5, ST35, ST36, SP9, BL17, BL18, BL20, BL23, LI4, and CV4. The optinal acupoints chosen will depend on each patient’s condition. The treatment course are two treatment each week during 4 weeks. Each session of treatment will last for 20 or 25 minutes.
