The most obvious symptoms of meningitis are headache, fever, and stiff neck. This disease is considered as acute disease. Therefore, the symptom can get worse rapidly. The symptom of meningitis emerge due to the swelling of meninges.

CAUSES
Most cases of meningitis are caused by viral infection. Therefore, you need to get vaccinated before you go to certain area that have high possibility of meningitis infection. Other cause of meningitis could be a bacterial or fungal infections. The case of meningitis can recovered without treatment in a few weeks. However, there is case that meningitis get worse rapidly and becoming life threatening condition.

Acupuncture Treatment For Meningitis
There are many type of meningitis. Each type can be treated in different way by acupuncture. One of the meningitis treatment method is the treatment as if the patient were having invasion of Toxic Heat. The treatment pattern for this was to rid Toxic Heat, Clear the heat, and calm shen. The acupoints that can be chosen to cure meningitis are LI 11, LI 4, Du 20, SI 3 and Liv 3. Treatment were given daily. Each treatment will require 1 hour. Needle stimulation is done every 15 minutes.
