Raynaud Phenomenon, also called  Raynaud Syndrome is a condition where the arteries of arms or legs go into spasm thus reducing blood flow. This condition usually affects the fingers and sometimes the toes. It can also happen to other parts of the body such as the nose or ears and causes pain and numbness.

Raynaud’s syndrome causes the affected area to turn first white and then blue. Also, the affected area feels numb and painful. These symptoms usually lasted about 15 minutes.

Doctors don’t completely understand the causes of Raynaud’s. The Raynaud phenomenon is mostly caused by cold temperatures and stress.

Acupuncture Treatment For Raynaud’s Phenomenon

According to the Chinese medicine practice, Raynaud’s phenomenon is also called Hanjue or cold extremities. This disease is caused by qi and blood deficiency, yang deficiency, and cold invasion. The treatment aims to nourish the qi and blood, removing the cold and strengthened the yang. Acupuncture points involved in this treatment are Mingmen (DU4), Shenshu (BL23), Guanyuan (RN4), Qihai (RN6), Xuehai (SP10), Zusanli (ST36), Baxie (EX-UE9), Bafeng (EX-LE10).
