CKD can get gradually worse over time and eventually the kidneys may stop working altogether, but this is uncommon. Many people with kidney disease are able to live long , largely normal lives.

Acupuncture Treatment For Renal Failure

Acupuncture treatment focuses on acupoints  KD3 and ST36.  KD3 is a point located below the knee, whilst ST36 is located at  the medial point posterior to the ankle. Treatment aimed at these acupoints will reduce the activity of the sympathetic nervous system in the KD22. Decreasing the nerve activity is crucial to the treatment as it slows the progression of the renal disease.
