Acupuncture Treatment For Sinus Infections

Acupuncture practitioners regard sinus infection as a disease that is caused by imbalance in energy and damp heat. Treatment for patients with sinus infection will focus on sinus-point acupuncture points. Treatments are given for 20 minutes. Acupuncture points chosen for this treatment are bitong points, ST36, and LV3 which are also called Great Surge. Bitong point is a good point for affecting the nasal passage. ST36 is an important acupoint to regulate the dampness, while LV3 is good for clearing heat in the sinuses.
