Acupuncture Treatment For Juvenile Diabetes

Diabetes or Juvenile Diabetes is a chronic disease. The way acupuncture treat diabetes are as follow :
1. Treatment course :
once daily for 12 days as a course of treatment, then a 2-3 day break before starting another course.
2. Needle retention :
30 minutes following getting the qi sensation
3. Acupoints involved along with its purpose of treatment :
a. Dry heat in the lung and stomach
clear away heat, moisten and promote production of body fluids
feishu (BL-13), weishu (BL-21), neiting (ST-44), zusanli (ST-36)
b. Dry intestines and impairment of body fluids
nourish yin, irrigate the intestines
quchi (LI-11), fenglong (ST-40), zhigou (TB-6), zhaohai (KI-6)
c. Damp-heat of spleen and stomach
clear away heat, resolve damp, activate the stomach, strengthen the spleen
zhongwan (CV-12), zusanli (ST-36), tianshu (ST-25), neiguan (PC-6)
d. Stagnation of liver qi
relieve the depressed liver, regulate circulation of qi, promote blood circulation, remove stasis
taichong (LV-3), quguan (LV-8), ganshu (BL-18), xuehai (SP-10)
e. Deficiency of spleen qi and kidney qi
invigorate the spleen and replenish qi
pishu (BL-20), weishu (BL-21), zhongwan (CV-12), zusanli (ST-36)
f. Deficiency of liver and kidney yin
nourish liver and kidney
taichong (LV-3), taixi (KI-3), shenshu (BL-23), guanyuan (CV-4)
g. Deficiency of spleen yang
warm and invigorate the spleen and kidney
mingmen (GV-4), guanyuan (CV-4), zusanli (ST-36), yinlingquan (SP-9)
h. Deficiency of lung qi and spleen qi
warm the spleen and nourish the lung to replenish qi
feishu (BL-13), pishu (BL-20), taibai (SP-3), taiyuan (LU-9)
