Hemorrhoids is a common condition that happen to many people. It is the term that explain swollen blood vessels in the lower rectum. This condition of hemorrhoids is considered as the most common cause of anal pathology. Although it is common condition, but usually people are reluctant to see the doctor because they are feeling embarassed. Hemorrhoids may be painful, but it is not considered as life-threatening condition.

There are many symptoms that indicating the existence of hemorrhoids, which are extreme itching around the anus area, irritation and pain around the anus, an itchy or painful lump or swelling near your anus, fecal leakage, a painful bowel movement, and blood on your tissue after having a bowel movement.

CAUSES


Hemorrhoids are not arteries or veins, but instead are normal blood vessels called sinusoids that are located in the walls that surround the rectum and anus. Hemorrhoids can happen due to many cause including straining to have a bowel movement, prolonged sitting, lack of exercise, low fiber diet, obesity, pregnancy, colon cancer, liver disease, anal intercourse, and spinal cord injury.

Acupuncture Treatment For Hemorrhoids

In treating the Hemorrhoids, the othodox treatment practise will choose 10 acupoints to be treated. The needling process will stay for 20 – 30 minutes. However, newer acupuncture technique try to treat the Hemorrhoids only at one acupoint. The acupoint use for this new technique is the point of Du Mai 4. This acupoint is also known as MingMen (life’s gate). This acupoint is used because this acupoint is easy to access and also painless. Treating the patient at this acupoint will give the patient another advantage, which is increasing the vital yang energy. The new technique, known as One-Point and One-Minute technique need the stimulation of the acupoint by the needle by moving it steadily back and forth. This new technique is said to be effective in treating Hemorrhoids.
