High Blood Pressure is a condition where blood flow pressure inside our blood vessel is considerably high. There is a standard measurement to define whether our blood pressure is considered to be normal, high, or low. High Blood Pressure is also known as HBP or Hypertension. Most people think people with HBP disease will have tense, nervous or hyperactive personality. This is wrong, HBP disease has no connection with the personality traits. Unmanaged high blood pressure can lead to serious disease or disorder such as stroke, heart attack, kidney failure, and peripheral vascular disease.

High blood pressure have a nickname “silent killer”. That’s it, because people with high blood pressure disorder usually produce no symptom. The symptom of high blood pressure usually appear if the pressure have reached considerably high and dangerous. Symptom that might emerge when the pressure already at the life-threatening stage would be headaches, shortness of breath, or nosebleed.

CAUSES
It is not very clear what is the reason why some people have high blood pressure and some people doesn’t have it. However, there are some risk factor contributing to this disorder, which are age, high salt consumption, family history of high blood pressure, lack of exercise, being overweight, smoking, and alcohol consumption habit. Other condition that can cause high blood pressure including kidney disease, diabetes, lupus disease, and scleroderma.

Acupuncture Treatment For High Blood Pressure
Treatment of hypertension using acupuncture is taken place at the acupoints of Ki 3 (Taixi), Liv 3 (Taichong), Sp 9 (Yinlingquan), L.I. 4 (Hegu), Ht 7 (Shenmen), St 36 (Zusanli), Sp 6 (Sanyinjiao), Ki 7 (Fulio), Lu 9. Treatment will be given for one month with a total treatment of 15. The treatment of hypertension using acupuncture is proved to be effective treatment. Indicator of blood tension, i.e. systolic and diastolic both showing a significant reduction. This treatment is not replacing the modern medication rather than give a complementary treatment.
