As the name suggest, that is the main symptom of infertility is simply not being pregnant. Infertile woman usually may have irregular or absent of menstrual cycle. For men, infertile symptom is unable to make his couple getting pregnant. Other sign of infertile men could be a hormonal problems, such as changes in hair growth or sexual function.

CAUSES

 


Infertility is a quite common disorder. Around 14% of the couples having this problem. Infertility is not solely problem that can be addressed to woman. Actually, 1/3 of the infertility cases are caused by male problems. Infertility in women caused by damage of the fallopian tubes, ovulatory problems, endometriosis, problems in the uterus, and unknown factors. Infertility in men are caused by low count or quality of sperm, problem at the sperm tubes, erection problem, ejaculation problems, smoking habit, and obesity.

Acupuncture Treatment For Infertility

Acupuncture treatment practise see reproductive processes are primarily governed by the Kidney, Liver and Spleen. Kidney jing is the foundation for both Kidney yin and yang, and Kidney yin is the basis for jing shui. If kidney yin is in deficiency state then an embryo is unlikely to thrive. In the other way, the deficiency of kidney yang can cause blockage of the fallopian tubes.
In this acupuncture treatment, there are two groups of pattern that must be considered. The first pattern, which is the excess pattern is related with blood statis, damp-heat, liver qi stagnation, phlegm-dampness, cold in the uterus, and blood heat. The other pattern, which is deficienct patterns is related with kidney yin deficiency, kidney yang deficiency, and blood and qi deficiency.
The treatment for infertility is given every two weeks using electro acupuncture stimulation. The treatment given based on the development stage of the pregnancy :
1. Menstruation and follicular development
• Ganshu BL‑18 to regulate and nourish the Liver.
• Shenshu BL‑23 to regulate and nourish the Kidney; if there is Kidney yang deficiency include moxa.
Ganshu
2. Ovulation
Guanyuan REN‑4, Zhongji REN‑3 and Dahe KID‑12,
to connect and harmonise the lower dan tian, Kidney channel and uterine network vessels and stimulate
ovulation.
3. Implantation and endometrial receptiveness
Guanyuan REN‑4 and Qihai REN‑6 to connect and harmonise the lower dan tian, Conception vessel, Spleen, Liver and Kidney channels. These points support original qi, benefit jing, nourish blood and Kidney yin, fortify Kidney yang (with moxa) and regulate the uterus.
