An ovarian cyst is a closed pocket or pouch of tissue that is located within the ovary. According to the Chinese medication practise, ovarian cysts occur due to the stagnation of excess yin in the ovaries. Cysts and tumours are considered to be caused by stagnation of qi and phlegm. The acupuncture therapist will treat the patient  by performing electroacupuncture at the acupoints of the Liver and Gall Bladder meridians. Additional acupoint of Spleen 9 and stomach 40 can be added if needed. The treatment is given three times a week.
