Yeast infection or candidiasis is a fungal infection There are more than 20 types of candida that most commonly infect the mouth and vagina.

Symptom of yeast infection are :
– White patches on the tongue and other areas inside the mouth and throat
– Mouth soreness
– Difficulty swallowing
– Genital itching
– Burning feeling in the genital area

CAUSES
The cause of this yeast infection is fungal infection. The most common type of fungus that can cause infection is candida albicans. Infections mostly affect young children, the elderly, and those with a weakened immune system such as HIV and diabetes. Risk factors that contribute to the yeast infection are denture wearing, after surgery, using of certain medications like antibiotics and inhalers.

Acupuncture Treatment For Yeast Infection (Candidiasis)
One of the system of diagnosis of Traditional Chinese Method is Four Level system. Regarding candidiasis, the first level of the disease manifests as spleen qi xu. If this condition is left untreated, the parasites will infiltrate to the next level, i.e. qi level. This infiltration will cause dampness, stagnation, and rebellious stomach qi. The next level, as the parasites colonize and reach ying level, it will manifest as yin xu symptoms. In the next level, which is xue or blood level, the disease will permeate through the lipid layer of the cell wall to ingest host nutrients, and perform as symptoms of blood xu. The candida will then release toxins, additional turbidity and dampness transforms into phlegm. This phlegm may present itself productively as sinusitis, bronchitis, menstrual blood or invisible phlegm.
