Genital warts are a possible consequence of infection by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) HPV is a very common virus most usually transferred sexually. Genital warts may develop singly or as multiple warts.

Genital warts are small fleshy growths that manifest in large numbers on the external genitalia or anal area of females or males.
Genital warts generally are not painful and do not pose a serious risk to health
However, they are unsightly and can be passed on by sexual contact
Condoms do not prevent their spread

CAUSES
The human papilloma virus(HPV) is responsible for genital warts but HPV is not a single virus but a family of more than 100 viruses. Different strains usually affect different parts of the body including the hands and the feet.
The types of HPV that cause visible genital warts do not cause genital cancer. Other strains of HPV can cause cervical cancer

Acupuncture Treatment For Genital Warts
Before performing any acupuncture treatment, the acupuncturist must know the pattern of the disease. Only then can the acupuncturist perform the right treatment. According to the Chinese traditional treatment method, genital warts have the following disease pattern :
– Wind dampness or wind heat
– Wind dampness with phlegm
– Liver attacks the lungs with spleen dampness
– Damp heat in large intestine
– Damp heat with blood stagnation in the lower jiao
– Blood deficiency with heat
– Blood stasis
